If you Tweet more than 10 times per day then you have what is known as Twitteritis. It is a seemingly uncontrollable urge to tell friends what you're up to during the day.

Next, you will need to decide what you want to market on Twitter. Most people choose to market affiliate products, but you can also market your website or your own products. These are trusted sites that provide a wide variety of quality products for you to sell and earn a commission. THINGS TO DO...

• Introduce yourself to all new followers. This can be done manually or automatically with an automation software. Treat this as you would with any other first impressions.
  
• Follow people in your target market. Using the "find people" feature, perform a keyword search that relates to your market. You can also Follow the Followers of the people in your search results.
• Post interesting tweets without links for a little while. People will begin to realize that you're not just trying to shove a product down their throat.
• Tweet often, but not too often. You want to tweet often enough that people won't forget you, but not too often that people will unfollow you thinking you're a spammer.

THINGS NOT TO DO...

• DO NOT post a link in your first message. Most people will assume you're trying to sell something and will ignore or unfollow you.
• DO NOT try to sell anything in the first few tweets. Instead, use that opportunity to connect with your audience. Offer free things, if you must, and keep them coming back.
• DO NOT follow people who are not in your target market. If they are followers of those who are in your market, then that's okay. If their market is gardening and yours is fishing, it's not a good idea.
  
• DO NOT spam, beg, hype, curse, or anything else that would make you look unprofessional or untrustworthy. If you do any of these, then you will lose followers very quickly.

Once you've done what you're supposed to do, then the rest is a matter of introducing your followers to products that they may need. For example, if your market is web design, then you could promote web design software, tutorials, or templates. In addition to your affiliate link. Most people use Bit.ly to shorten their links and allow more space for text. Be creative, clear, and courteous.
